One boy, a nerd, finds that a virus has broken out, quite suddenly
after someone bit into an infected burger
Zombies ensue
He tries to make his way to Ohio, where his family is,
from Texas
He meets some intriguing people on the way
(all with their own stories and personalities)
Upon hearing that his "home" in Ohio is no longer there
He struggles to survive in the Waste land
and finds a new family in his companions of the apocalypse.
