Off the top of my head...
Your friend puts your name down whe he/she joins.
Once they reach a certain level you get your credit (tanscended i believe). Ip addresses and details are checked, so there isnt much point trying to rig it (not directed at you), it would be more effective earning 40 mil and buying GC.

it says that it does not give points to those that use the same IP address, what if I have brothers and there's 5 of us? and they all want to refer me... we dont get credited then? (example only)

Five people in one household would use five different IP addresses within their network. Inevitably, though, their router/network setup would identify their "home network" by one IP, thus no credit could be obtained. Though special case scenarios do exist.
