Everyone remembers a Quote by someone that they never forget.
Put Em' here for everyone to see.
The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a Dirty Prostitute. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle through their pockets for new vocabulary. – James D. Nicoll
You are allowed one spark of madness in life... Never lose sight of it

Quote: | "It is substantially true that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule indeed extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who that is a sincere friend to it can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric? Promote, then, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion should be enlightened."
George Washington' Farewell Address. |
Why is it our first President can see what none of our recent Presidents has bothered to grasp?
Also of note, the man spent almost a quarter of his entire speech warning off Americans from allowing divisive "factions" to split their vote. As a whole the founding fathers disliked a 2 party system, one going on to say that
Quote: | "I fear the day a two party system is accepted, for it shall be the end of our democracy." (Attributed to Thomas Jefferson, though I can't find the document refferenced ATM) |
Then again, One of their number also advocated Revolutions every generation. Those wacky 20-somethings and their radical ideas!
I mean, for the Founding Father Quotables-
Quote: | "Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear."
Thomas Jefferson

Many people believe that the world is peaceful with a constant break of War.
But, we should all know... It is quite the opposite. The world is always at War with a break of Peace every now and then. -Anonymous _________________

Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the presence of fear, but the will to go on. - (Heard it on "Black Knight")
It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it's what you leave behind you when you go. - Randy Travis - 3 Wooden Crosses.
What proves your existence? - My good friend and brother-in-arms, ShadowFox, who taught me everything I know about honor.
The answer to that last question should be obvious. |
