Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the presence of fear, but the will to go on.
Those who must live their lives in fear, find great courage in the strength and determination of their friends and family.
I didn't know him personally, as far as I know, but with so many of his friends here paying their respects, he surely lived a life worthy of it.
An innocent soul was taken from us; however let us rejoice in his life, and not let his death cloud the happy memories.
Remember --- It's not what you take, when you leave this world behind you. It's what you leave behind you, when you go.
(If this next bit is inappropriate, please remove it.)
I don't assume his religion. But in times such as these, a psalm is often read from the bible.
-Psalm 23-
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. |
