I can still play it without downloading new client. So why on earth won't it work after December or whatever it is? Cause i cbb downloading it =_=
I don't get it. Someone explain plox.

It wont work after December 3rd because luzz is making it like that. The second client which we have to download if we want to continue playing Reign after December 3rd is fully compatable with Windows7, the last client was not.

If both clients can be played now, why on earth is it going to be made so only one will after december 3?
Wouldn't you keep it for both to work, to save alot of people downloading it? U_U

There only needs to be one client out, and the new client allows people with Windows 7 to play. I guess you'll have to wait for a GM to reply and give you a little more clarity on the subject.

But thats the thing, both clients are currently active, the new and the old? So atm, windows 7 and non windows 7 can be played?
So if that can be done, why doesn't it just be left as it is now?

The old client doesn't have all the updates the new client does. I might be wrong about this.

The new Reign Online 2.0 Client contains a large number of in-game and application related updates, including new game data, support for Windows 7, and an upgraded patching process that the original client did not support. In future game updates, the updates themselves will not be created in a way that the original client will be able to use. Functionality for the first client will be dropped for the simple reason that it has become outdated with the release of the new client and will not be capable of receiving updates.
A client that cannot be updated will constantly crash as the game evolves, as it will lack the new sprites and other necessary files needed to run.
So, to put it simply:
You need the Reign Online 2.0 client because it's the future. =P

If it had been possible to release a Small Client styled patch for the game in order to update Reign Online, it would have been done just as all updates have in the past. This update release is solely a Full Client upgrade because that is the only option available.

We do not _proactively_ try to break the old client. However, we do not run nor test the old client. You have been lucky that the previous updates works with your old client.
Chances are, a future update will render it completely unusable.
