Ok so I was on the comp yesterday, looking at Ratemyserver after looking at shadow's 99 mdef thread, trying to remeber the best gears to get 99 mdef with. all i had open was IE8 with one tab on RMS and the other on youtube. suddenly my antivirus goes off the chart and when its done, my background screen changed from my wallpaper to a blue one with YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED. and i know it was RMS because its happened before, but not the blue screen part.
Some kind of Trojan Horse i think.
its been like 20 hours now, and that message is gone but the blue screen remains. Its at this point i could probably use a little help.
I use Spyware Doctor, Ad-aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Avast! Antivirus. I'm thinking i should get a 2nd antivirus but i dont know what.
all i ask is that its Free and Good.
Also a few other questions to those that can answer.
for Avast i usually just shove things in the chest and leave them there, but now i think i should try and get rid of everything in it. but i dont know how to remove viruses from the virus chest to make every file in there safe again. some help explaining how to do this would be nice.
second, for spyware Search and destroy, i recently got it up to scan everything when i start my comp before everything else starts to load. though i dont know how to remove that stuff it finds when it finishes without making it do another scan (which it doesnt even get all the # of stuff that it did before everything else started running up). anyone know how to remove that stuff w/o doing another scan (Spybot's help thing was useless.)
and lastly what kind of anti spyware/virus things you use? and how good are they.
I'm sorry if theres another thread on the forums that cound answer some of this but i dont want to stay on the internet for very long. Back to trying to remove this crap i guess. _________________ DEATH TO THE BABY CLASSES |

This happened to me WHILE I was playing PSU in windowed mode, a year back.
Something could have gotten into your computer a while ago, and just "woke up" now.
Could have been RMS.
Could have been that sick foot fetish porn you have.
You might want to reformat.

I doubt it was RMS that caused it.
Once your IE is infected, it goes off at random times.
It could happen while you're on RMS or while you're on another site.
(This, of course, if referring to the most common infection.)
Get rid of IE completely and reinstall it before running the virus scans. _________________ Vote for Reign!

Ive decided and said screw it and gonna reformat tomorrow. once i buy an external hard drive and back like most of my crap up.
as for the RMS thing, its like everytime i go on it on IE, i get like swarmed with avast messages saying i'm under attack.
I'm just sick of it all, gonna reformat this, then once i do remove all traces of IE from my sight (I would use an Ax if i could).
though i wonder if a system restore would do anything (with my luck probably not)
and Zeb, at least my foot fetish isnt as bad as your armpit one _________________ DEATH TO THE BABY CLASSES |

I highly recommend running Malwarebytes in Windows Safe Mode.
Download the Free version here:
http://malwarebytes.org/
Install and update it in normal Windows mode, then reboot, F8 into Safe mode, and do a Full Scan.
Read the Anti-lag guide for hints on where programs attach themselves into Windows start-up. Once you find where they start up, you can likely remove them.
Good luck _________________ Support Reign Online by voting! |
