I've had this idea for awhile now, and the new topic about WoE improvements made me think why not post it.

I know when i used to WoE and still do sometimes, I've always used the Guardians provided by the castle. But on most mid-rates like these they are pretty much useless and don't do anything.

My idea is to increase the Stats of the Guardians, primarily their HP, to somewhere around that of the current Emp's HP, I believe 1m, or maybe higher around 5m. The other stats as in their str, agi, etc... maybe doubled.

To make them a bit more interesting and useful, how about we add some skills to the Guardians. My Idea for the skills would be that each guardian class, has a specific set of skills they can use. The current Guardians are Knight, Soldier & Archer. Each of those Guardians will have their own set of skills which only the guild master can give them at the cost of Zenny, lets just say around 1-5m per skill. Each guardian can hold a max of 3 skills.

Now of course there will be a strict restriction on what skills they can use. Also considering how every castle has different Guardians, not every castle will have the same skills available. A few skills that I have considered that can be allowed for the Guardians would be: Frost Joker, Meteor Storm, Cloaking, Scream, Double Strafing, Storm Gust. More skills could be added/removed or not.

Bard & Dancer dance will not be on the list, nor any soul links. Each skill the guardian gets will be used with normal after cast delay, so Guardians wont be able to spam.

An example i thought of would be: Guardian Soldier can cloak, and use Frost Joker as it sees people in the castle, uncloak it to attack. Guardian can still use Frost Joker as it attacks/being attacked.
Guardian Knight can use Meteor Storm and Storm Gust as people approach the emp.

I would find it more interesting if the Guardians were being used more in WoE, and actually served a purpose like in this idea. making it a bit more challenging for guilds to break the emp, which is what woe has turned into now.

A similar idea to this was suggested, only it was suggested in the form of adding MVP's to the guardian list. Either way i approve of the idea of having guardians and giving them some use.

i compleatly agree mostly because since i woe alone i use them for as much defence as they can be used and even if it leaves/left me broke i alwasy bought every guardian i could just to at least slow down anyone trin to take my castle but because they as they are now its like the dont do anything and just stand around cuz before when i had hohen cyr and fadh even though i only had them for about a week or so (cyr and fadh) i had guardians to try and defend them if i couldnt make it to woe (mainly cyr) and yet i still lost them

as Crystal said, all guardians seem to do is mess up traps. i would like for them to be immune to traps or something..if at all possible. It's a waste if you set up your defense and lay out your traps...only to have half your traps taken up by your own guardians..

I like everything you suggested, Mutt, and just hope these changes would include making guardians immune to traps somehow..

I think its a good idea. But if this is implemented maybe consider making it so that guardians do not attack non guilded / non allied players who are in the fort holders woe party. Considering a lot of people woe with players who are not in their guild / alliance.

I also would like to see this happen. Although I think the guardians in the Strongholds are buffed like those in Thors (I could be wrong though) As it was the official standing on iRO for stronghold guardians.

I've taken some time to just jot down a few skills that the guardians could use, still working on the list. Comment please, I'd really love to see the guardians be more useful in WoE, and maybe get this idea implemented Smile

If the Guardian knights going to be using MS and SG, he shouldn't have Melee attacks put into it... I suggest removing the Bowling Bash and Parrying and add like Heavens Drive and (chance?) to use Magic Shield -reflects magic-

Also, with the Guardian Archer and Guardian Solder, They shouldn't have Frost Joker and Scream, Add like Sharp Shooting to the archer (Or another Archer type skill) and remove the Auto Guard and add Defender to him. to the Guardian Soldier add the Auto Guard (10) and Spiral Peirce? or something like that. :] That way they keep with there "classes" and yeah... xD

Yeah, it would be interesting to see, but also it would be the most effective place to see the magic being done. The Guardian Knight (i think) is only spawned in the emp room (might be pre emp also). So that makes that Guardian a bit more effective if it's able to cast magic. It may not hurt, but it sure as hell will freeze some people.
