It depends on what you want your homun to do. If you are a strong hitter and want a homunculus to complement that, I would suggest an amistr - the knight type. Let your homun charge your enemy, then use castling to trade places with it - lots of people don't see it coming (and it's won me a few pvp victories in the past!)
If you want your homun to do most of the fighting, I would suggest a filir. These are assassin type homunculus, and do pretty decent damage with their moonlight ability.
If you want a support type homun, I would suggest the Lif, which acts as a priest type, healing you in combat. Just remember that each cast of the Lif's healing hands spell requires 1 condensed red potion!
If you want a battle support homunculus, use the..jelly blob..thing that I cant remember the name of anymore. It casts bolt spells like a wizard while you hammer away at your enemies!
Hope this helps you make your decision! _________________ Zephie - Gypsy

I can believe that. I tend to put that one out of my mind as I don't care for it much ^^;; _________________ Zephie - Gypsy

Each of the four homunculus (Vanilmirth, Filir, Lif, Amistr) come in two varieities. Each looks different in it's "baby" and "evolved" stage. So, in all technicality, there are 16 different Homunculus that you can see. 8 normal and 8 evolved.

You can think of it this way too. Each Homonculus has a male and female version. Just like the rest of us
Example:
If you get the Lif in a dress. That is the female version. This one is usually green.
If you get the Lif with a "twirly" beanie. That is the male version. This one is usually red and a version of spikey hair as an adult.
Twirly beanie = hat with propellers on top. |

how's the red lif a male? o.o
it has bouncy boobs when it evolves x:
btw, with the rates we have now, Filir is useless in PvP, as they can't hit anybody with any of their skills...since they have such low hit....and other players have flee. |

Overall I do not believe Homunculi are very useful for battle in PvP. They are marvelous as supporters of the Creator to which they belong, though.
Additionally, all Homunculi are technically genderless, but the Lif (both Green and Red) display extremely feminine qualities. _________________
