I think it would help a lot to have an NPC that you can go to(with a couple items for the service or something), and have it make an equip in your inventory undroppable(still trade able though?). It would suck for someone to make a quest wing like gazeti and drop it in the middle of endless tower(which so did not happen to me >>).Seriously though, it would also be useful for people with mvp cards that don't want to risk dropping the armor its on, or if it's on any non donate. Also I'm sure people who go through the trouble of making quest items(especially players without donates), don't want to be dropping their stuff by accident.

Tried to explain what I meant as best I could, feedback please =D.

I dropped something in the tower during a gear switch, so I completely understand your motive.
It sounds like a good idea, though I've heard making an NPC is a lot of work.
To start, it might be simpler to just write into the script for the quest wings to be not drop-able. As for the rest, I dunno. Try putting the gears on hotkeys to avoid the problem all together.
If the NPC were to be made, I suggest it also have a destroy item, or make-dropable option in case of a mis-click on your idea.

Even if I did, I still might drop while clearing junk from inventory. =(

If an NPC could be made I think that would be a better idea. If you made the wings un-droppable that means people wouldn't be able to sell them. (I think)

I never have any issues with "accidental" drops. But I have the small bar for Equip, Stats, Inventory, etc up.

I actually have to make an effort to be ABLE to drop things. The bars aren't that big when minimized, either.

Doesn't do anything for selling stuff I don't want to sell though -.-

I lost a pretty sweet main gauche by dropping it once. Not in the tower, but... You get the idea.

Creating 'drop-able' and 'non-drop-able' versions of items involves the duplication of every item. This means that every item in the database needs to have their data duplicated, and their numerous sprites and action files duplicated as well. This will not be done, as the amount of work needed for it is enormous beyond comprehension.

On that note, the loss of items is actually healthy for a server. A server that never loses items or in-game currency will hit inflation and and an over-saturation of items. This means that new players will unlikely do quests, farm zeny, or, simply put - work, as the older players have already done all that for them.
