that's what it says when I try to open reign.
not sure if this is the right place to complain but it does it only on my laptop.. maybe the problem is in me but i am clueless how to fix it.

well, I'm going to start with the obvious, and say check to make sure your sound is working (in general), check the setup.exe in the reign folder, and make sure you have the right sound type selected, and update your drivers.

This is exactly what it sounds like - some other program or background process has accessed and locked the audio on your system in a way that Reign's client is unable to utilize it. Sometimes, this is caused by incorrect audio drivers. Other times, this is causes by 'rogue' programs that don't release hardware resources.

Try to update your audio driver and DirectX.

Try to uninstall any suspicious programs from your computer and run a Malwarebytes full scan.

Alternately, you could run your Reign Setup, and turn off sound.
This will end the problem, but you won't have any sound.
