As a member of the deaf culture in my town, I find it very offensive. It does happen to say, "I hate deaf people."
They're honestly one of the nicest people you will ever meet. You'd be surprised how often people take hearing for granted. Be thankful for what you have. Signing is their only means of communication. ASL is a beautiful language. |

You take offense to this because... It says "I hate deaf people?"
It doesn't insult anyone in any way. It's... not offensive. Are you kissing up to Skye? That doesn't make sense.

Why are you offended?
It's a shirt IN SIGN LANGUAGE that says "I hate deaf people."
That's ironic.
Why would you learn sign language if you hate deaf people?

Some of them, yes. But Deaf people are people too. Like all people, there are the nice ones. The mean ones. The mature ones. The childish ones. Any and every kind of hearing person that exists, there is a Deaf person just like them.
I find the shirt to be satirical in nature, but I don't like any shirt that says "I hate _____".

I googled the sign language alphabet and matched up the hand signs that looked similar to word it out. But since it was too small all I got was "I hate", the rest was a buket uv Blargh.

I only use an "I shoot" line in reference to shooting games and Zombies.
I still don't find the shirt funny, but that's my opinion.
