I grew up with cats. Just like dogs, it all depends on what kind of cat you're dealing with.
I have excellent luck with Tabbies and Calicos.

I have two Calicos right now (One white/orange/black, one simply orange/black). Both are indoor cats. I assume yours are/were outdoor cats? =(

They were both indoor cats we let them go outside with us when we were outside so they wouldn't get to fat. But our neighbors dogs were over at are place playin with our two dogs and they saw tabbie and chased it out to the road and a car was goin by just as my cat reached the road. My dad was pissed beyon all reason and kicked one of our neighbors dogs so hard it passed out.

lol. I never had a cat, even though I am a cat lover. Aw. I think, and I'm not sure on this, my dad is allergic to cats. l-o-l.

As far as a dog goes, I only get lil' sized things because I had a big dog once. It bit me right below my eye when I was five years old. D:

Not sure why the topic hasn't died yet, maybe people love talking about kitties, and their stories, and their dogs too, which I might add I'm a fan of both species. Down to 2 dogs and 3 cats! Anyhow, on that note, this is the chat section? Tho, the topic was something along the lines of 'wow' about the change, which I would like to point out I really do like the new website, its very profesional and smooth in its simplicity. i like kittens but im allegic to cats so i cant have them but im more of a dog person anyways..and cats seem to hate me anyways, i have a Wolf/Siberian Husky hybrid hes sooooo cool my mom has 4 of the darn taco bell dogs [i cant spell the real name of them > > ] they hate me so much and idk why
