Strafe n' I were talking and we came up with an idea to level the playing field for the entire server. Note this sugestion is only an option if GTB is NOT banned from WoE and PVP since it'l level the playing field for magic users who keep getting the shaft.

We sugest makeing a card that blocks ALL Melee damage just like GTB block ALL magical damage skills included
We have the scripting ready for the item if it would be included, as strafe has done all the work himself on this one.

Also, skills included would be:
Bowling Bash, Magnum Break, Asura (if it's not magic damage), Final Strike, Arrow Shower, any other skill that would rely on physical damage instead of matk.

If it was implemented, and added as a normal mvp drop, that it would most likely break the server in the end, and could possibly ruin the balance, but it also has the potential to fix the balance.

They could I think, at least gunners can I believe. If not though, then find a way to stop all melee damage, thus bows would be saved from it.

Edit: Tried it out, apparently all weapon damage is grouped in one section (not divided by range and melee) but I may be able to work around it.

but..........if we have cards to nullify all physical and all magical like that...theres nothing left. its all a bunch of....nothing. i understand shadow that you want a balance. but really, who all has GTB..its super rare as far as i know. and if say half of reign had it yes i could see how that would be a problem for you mages, but im sure they dont.

This, would make it more fair its just that people could be realy powerful. Except against range they would be invincible, But it would be like a Melle GTB so it should be alowwed. Even tho i prefer for GTB to be banned instead.

really it wouldn't be a whole bunch of nothing, since it would take up a shield slot just like GTB already does. And if GTB is a really rare card (I've seen like 5 floating about now) then this new one would be as well, so it would be all the same in the end, just more balanced. But this could end up making the server less balanced if too many people get their hands on it, just like GTB...

edit: Also Zeb, I didn't know that, haven't really noticed my gunslingers gears when I used him...just spammed desperado >_>;

way i see it too is if they thought a nullify all physical was good then they would of put it in card form along side gold thief bug. But no such card exist yet hmmm...do you think its cause NO ONE thought of it..ha i highly doubt that. In fact i assume for years people have been pitching this idea. gotta be a reason its not implemented yet.

Very funny post. I like it. It will ruin the game but i like it. Anyone who denies this in anyway is not thinking logical. You will now have your complete opposite of the gtb card.

Things will be balanced again. In a very whacked up sort of way. The only thing that equals gtb is its melee counterpart. Without its counterpart, it should be removed.

If you can get immune to magic, by rights you should destroy some other classes to get immune to melee. Dont like it? As someone stated, "switch characters"

Although gtb is still better. Why lose 50% hp? The equivalent to doubling sp of skills is just that, double the sp of skills for this new card. Scrap the 50% hp please.

Actually glenn, I could change the script I've gotten written up to better mimic GTB's effects, I just figured 50% less HP would be something like the double sp cost. But yeah, double sp cost is totally workable into it, like shadow said though in his first post, this is all pending the GTB thread.
