My brother has this virus and he cant connect on internet no matter what. Can anyone help me out? And what does it do?

1) you sure it is due to said virus and not a loose wire/wierless antenna

2) if it is due to virus i dont know what it is nor really how to get rid of it except for

3) if nothing at all works reset the computer to manufacturer's settings

Wipe the hard drive and start over from scratch. You have a NASTY Trojan on your hands. There's even a Wikipedia article about it. This Trojan is known for stealing bank account information by logging keystrokes. Just google "Zeus Trojan".

As my brother so noobly stated: Have the computer restored to factory default. It's not really that hard but it will wipe the hard drive clean of everything downloaded and installed since the day it was first turned on.

you mentioned that ur brother's PC cannot connect to the internet. What do you mean by that? Do you mean when he's using an internet browser he cant connect? or is the network connection icon showing a no connectivity warning? Is his internet browser showing some fake advertisement when he opens it? What OS is he using btw? Can u please tell when and what was he doing on the PC before he lose connection?

There are many thing that might have cause this problem. He might have downloaded and install something. Like a windows update that's causing some issues with other registries. Or a problem with the wires/router. Or ur ISP might have cut ur internet connection because u forgot to pay XD

If u are sure that this is a trojan/virus, please try first to boot the computer to safe mode with networking (start pressing F8 when u start the computer so you'll be directed to advance boot menu then select safe mode with networking)... see if u can connect there. If u cant connect, try running some malware and anti virus softwares. I recommend malmare malbytes. download it using another computer and run it.

If running anti virus/malware programs doesnt help u, try system restore. restore the PC to a later date when it still can connect to the internet.

If this still doesn't fix it, you'll nid to do a clean format. u have to delete the C: drive and then reinstall the OS. It's better to do a clean re-installation to make sure that the virus/trojan will be gone. WARNING: This WILL ERASE everything on the PC. files, photos, music. EVERYTHING. so if u'll have to resort to this, please make a back up BUT scan them AFTER u transfer it to a storage device and BEFORE to return them to ur PC.
