Can the "downside"to the item (-20 MDEF) be different?
i have -18% MDEF when i wear it,if im not mistaken i take 18% more damage from magic.slightly not fair |

It's down to you to decide if the pros are enough to outweigh the cons of an item.
If the cons are too great, try a different item.
There is no reason to change the -20 MDEF.
